Effective cardiology care starts with an accurate diagnosis. Our cardiac catheterization (cath) labs are run by a highly experienced team and provide advanced imaging to quickly identify blockages and other heart concerns so treatment can begin without delay.

Coronary CTA is quickly becoming a standard in heart care because it offers a fast, noninvasive way to detect coronary artery disease. With clear, detailed images, it can help identify issues earlier — often before symptoms become more serious.

Because timing matters, our team is focused on delivering fast, efficient care. Shorter procedure times can mean less radiation exposure and quicker restoration of blood flow during emergencies like a heart attack — helping you get the care you need as quickly as possible.

Depending on your condition, your care may include noninvasive or minimally invasive procedures, as well as more advanced interventional treatments.

We participate in clinical trials that offer promising new treatment options without having to travel outside the greater Charleston area. Our team is actively involved in research studies, including trials of new devices and therapies to treat conditions such as atrial fibrillation. Minimally invasive procedures allow doctors to treat heart conditions with catheter-based techniques that involve passing instruments through your blood vessels. Examples include heart valve repair or replacement, opening blocked heart arteries, and placing devices like the WATCHMAN™. We can do many heart surgeries with minimally invasive techniques that require only small incisions rather than splitting your breastbone.

Whether to have cardiac rehabilitation is a personal choice. However, it’s beneficial for patients who experience heart attacks or other heart problems and those who have major heart procedures or surgery. Heart doctors often recommend rehab to help you regain your strength and confidence, improve your heart health, and prevent future heart problems.

We have a team of heart rhythm experts specializing in the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias. We offer diagnostic testing and the latest treatments, including minimally invasive procedures. In fact, Roper Hospital is one of only two hospitals in South Carolina to offer convergent ablation. This is an AFib treatment for those whose condition has not improved with other therapies.
