Coastal Cardiology and Roper St. Francis Healthcare form an alliance to provide an extensive cardiac

One of the area’s largest cardiology practices is forging a new relationship with Roper St. Francis Healthcare to meet the growing need for cardiac care across the Tri-County area.

Coastal Cardiology has long been affiliated with Roper St. Francis Healthcare , but it’s strengthening the relationship by teaming up with Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Cardiology’s robust network of providers.

“Roper St. Francis Healthcare has partnered with Coastal Cardiology for decades to provide outstanding care for our patients in the Lowcountry,” said Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robert Oliverio. “We’re excited for them to join Roper St. Francis Physician Partners so that we may further that work to provide the best care possible to our friends, family and neighbors.”

The new agreement will enhance Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s network of cardiac providers, making it easier for patients to access highly acclaimed cardiac services.

“This enhanced relationship supports our system’s continued growth throughout the region and aligns with our Strategic Plan goal of Addressing Future Clinical Needs,” said Associate Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Jim Bowron. “As we expand our services to Berkeley, Dorchester and Summerville, this addition to our team of cardiac providers will allow for even better care coordination.”

The alliance will also mean unifying electronic medical records, not just in an ambulatory setting, but in the hospitals as well.

“By unifying our electronic medical records, we’re helping to improve care navigation, physician communication and the patient experience,” Bowron said.

Coastal Cardiology diagnoses and treats heart conditions ranging from atrial fib and congestive heart failure to hypertension and arrhythmias. Providers will continue serving patients in West Ashley, Mount Pleasant and Moncks Corner while also expanding their services across the greater Charleston area.
