Roper Hospital has received numerous awards, designations and accreditations. In addition to having the first accredited ER in the region, we are a certified primary stroke center. We are also the recipients of Healthgrades 2025 outstanding patient experience award and a Pathway to Excellence designation. Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, located within Roper Hospital, is also the only facility in the Lowcountry that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Construction of our new Roper Hospital is expected to generate a staggering $2.5 billion economic impact and spur 3,600 related jobs. The new campus will span 27 acres in the heart of North Charleston and is slated for completion in 2029, setting the stage for a new era in the health system’s storied 170-year history.
