Tens of thousands of people utilize our programs and services every year. From free health checks to classes and events, we help people across Charleston and nearby areas take charge of their health and well-being.

Thousands of hours of community service

Between our staff and volunteers, we usually give back nearly 4,000 hours of our time to community service projects and programs each year.

95,000 community members received cancer prevention assistance

Cancer prevention education and screening are a focus for us. More than 95,000 of our neighbors have taken advantage of our free or low-cost screening and education events.

More than 1 million dollars given to the Roper St. Francis Foundation by teammates & physicians

The Foundation makes our programs possible. Gifts and donations support health services, prevention programs, and education that improves lives. Our own staff and teammates have given over 1 million dollars of their own money to the foundation.

We aim to close gaps in health care by giving resources, education and services to those who need them most.

No single organization can do this work alone...we assess needs together and by identifying common goals, we can move the agenda forward together. In partnership with other local organizations doing this work, we build safety nets for communities in greatest need, communities that wouldn't know where to turn to without support from the community organizations with whom we are grateful to partner.

View our Community Health Needs Assessment

Every year, we team up to do a community health needs assessment. This assessment ensures we’re helping where it's needed most. Last year, we worked with MUSC Health, Trident Health, Trident United Way, regional partners across the Lowcountry and community leaders to help guide our efforts.

We partner with local organizations, schools, and nonprofit health groups to expand access to care and support across our community. Last year, our community investment sponsorships were more than $400,000. We also included funding to community partner clinics for free lab and diagnostic services, for a total of more than $900,000 spent funding groups doing life-changing work.
