From the Charleston Battery soccer stadium and neighborhood barbershops to libraries and community cancer screening events, our Mobile Health Units spent the past year doing exactly what they were designed to do: meet people where they are and bring preventive care directly into the community.
That outreach added up to meaningful impact. In 2025, we added a new unit to our fleet thanks to a generous donation of a sprinter van from Dottie’s Pharmacy. With that new addition, our Mobile Health team reached more than 905 people through health education and administered over 1,650 health screenings, helping community members better understand their health and take proactive steps toward prevention.
2025 Mobile Health Unit Impact
- 331 breast exams
- 703 blood pressure checks
- 590 A1C tests
- 12 colon cancer risk assessments
- 25 prostate cancer screenings
Behind every number is a person, someone who may not otherwise have had access to screenings, education or early detection services. Whether it was a quick blood pressure check before a soccer match or a cancer screening during an awareness event, our Mobile Health Units continue to serve as a trusted entry point to care.

The units’ success is guided by Sharonda Stokes, who continues to serve as Mobile Health Unit Coordinator, overseeing logistics, partnerships and outreach efforts that keep the unit moving and responsive to community needs. This year also marked an important milestone for the program with the addition of a dedicated Mobile Health Unit provider, Kiara Baylock, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC. Additionally, the unit’s reach could not happen without our teammates who volunteer their expertise to support the unit on its outings.
This past year reflects trust built, conversations started and lives positively impacted, one stop at a time.
