We’re building better healthcare in one of Charleston’s fastest-growing areas by constructing a new Health Pavilion in the heart of Mount Pleasant. The three-story building will include its own micro-hospital with emergency department, lab, imaging, women’s health services and oncology, including infusion and pharmacy.
Care that’s closer, faster and built for families
The plan for expansion
The 68,000-square-foot Health Pavilion is located on a 4.56-acre lot at 512 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., at the intersection of Mathis Ferry Road. This facility is expected to open by the end of 2027.

Designed for the future of healthcare
Our new care hub will bring expanded access and advanced services to Mount Pleasant, including:
- Convenient location in the heart of Mount Pleasant, just over the Ravenel Bridge
- Multispecialty care with oncology, women’s services and more
- Freestanding micro-hospital with emergency department for urgent care needs
- On-site lab and imaging services for streamlined care
- Ample parking for patients and visitors
What’s happening at the site
Get a sneak peak of our progress as we build the new Health Pavilion at Johnnie Dodds. Creating a facility of this scale takes precision, but we can’t wait to open in 2027. During our planning and design phases, we worked with patients, clinicians and town officials to build the kind of care our community truly needs. While construction is underway, Roper St. Francis Healthcare remains dedicated to serving patients through its existing locations.
