Roper St. Francis Healthcare (“RSFH”) takes the privacy of our patients’ information very seriously, and we work hard to maintain the confidentially of that information. Regrettably, this notice concerns an incident that involved some of that information.
What Happened?
On June 28, 2024, RSFH learned of a mailing issue that may have resulted in letters to patients going to an incorrect address. A thorough privacy investigation determined that, on June 25, 2024, letters with updates about one of our practices were sent to a limited number of patients at an incorrect address, resulting in their names being disclosed to an unintended recipient. No other personal, medical, or financial information was disclosed.
What We Are Doing.
We deeply regret any concern this incident may cause and take this matter seriously. To help prevent something like this from happening again we have taken appropriate internal actions to re-train staff and have implemented, and will continue to adopt, additional privacy measures to further protect our patients’ information.
On August 26, 2024, RSFH began mailing notification letters to all patients whose information was involved. We have also established a dedicated toll-free call center, which may be contacted at (866) 997-0877, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (EST).
What Patients Can Do.
Should you have questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact our dedicated toll-free call center, available at (866) 997-0877, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (EST). As a best practice, if you receive mail that is not addressed to you, you should not open it and return to the sender.
