Roper St. Francis Express Care expands with new Johns Island location

Roper St. Francis Express Care opened its seventh location in the Lowcountry, bringing more convenient, high-quality care to residents of Johns Island and nearby communities.

The new location at 3575 Maybank Highway opened June 16 and will operate 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The opening aligns with Roper St. Francis Healthcare 2030 Strategic Plan initiatives to optimize the system’s footprint and address future clinical needs by delivering care closer to where people live, work and play.

“We listened to our community and made the decision to bring care closer to home,” said Diane Kirchner, practice manager of Roper St. Francis Express Care. “This location will benefit residents in rural areas like Hollywood and Ravenel who have fewer convenient options for urgent care.”

Roper St. Francis Express Care recently was named Best Urgent Care in the Charleston City Paper’s 2025 Best of Charleston awards — a reflection of our teammates’ dedication to our mission of healing all people with compassion, faith and excellence.

“We’re thrilled to open our new Roper St. Francis Express Care on Johns Island,” said Michelle Mejia Risher, regional operations director for Roper St. Francis Express Care. “Our dedicated focus remains on the patient experience, which deepens the Roper St. Francis Healthcare brand within the community. For added convenience, patients can simply walk in or save their spot online for same-day or next-day care.”
