There are also several risk factors linked to uterine fibroids, including:

  • Age: Fibroids are most common between your 30s and menopause.
  • Family history: If your mom or sister has fibroids, you’re at higher risk.
  • Racial background: Black women are more likely to develop uterine fibroids, including larger fibroids at a younger age. They’re also more likely to experience worse symptoms.
  • Other factors: Starting your period before age 10, obesity, low vitamin D levels, alcohol use and a diet high in red meat can also increase your risk.

We know that every woman is unique. That’s why we take the time to listen, understand your needs and support you every step of the way. As your partner, we’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan to help you feel better and get you back to a healthy, more confident life.

Common symptoms

Uterine fibroids don’t always cause symptoms. But if yours do, it can make you uncomfortable, drain your energy and disrupt your daily life.
Common symptoms include:

  • Bleeding between periods
  • Feeling “full” in your lower abdomen
  • Frequent urination
  • Heavy or painful periods
  • Lower back pain
  • Pain during sex
  • Reproductive problems like early labor, infertility or multiple miscarriages

Fibroids affect everyone differently. There’s no concern too small to talk about. If something doesn’t feel right, listen to your body and let us know. You deserve to feel comfortable and well, and you can count on us to support you.
