Daisy Award

Want to thank your nurse for extraordinary care? DAISY is an acronym for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System.” The DAISY Foundation is working to raise international awareness of the important contribution and support for nursing education and research. The DAISY Award recognizes the extraordinary work nurses do every day.

About the DAISY Award

J. Patrick Barnes’ family established the award in his memory to honor the highly skilled and caring nurses who aided him (and them) in his battle against idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP). He died at the age of 33. DAISY Award honorees personify Roper St. Francis Healthcare's remarkable patient experience. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in our local and international nursing communities.

Any teammate or patient or family member may submit a nomination.
