Notice of Magnet Recognition Program® Site Visit

Appraisers from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) will visit Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in August as the facility seeks its fourth designation from ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program.

The prestigious Magnet recognition distinguishes hospitals that meet rigorous standards of nursing excellence and demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and superior patient care. Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital received its first Magnet designation in 2010 with re-designation in 2015 and 2020.

Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in March submitted a document seeking its fourth designation. The next step is the appraisers’ site visit Aug. 19-21.

Three Magnet appraisers will talk with about 80 percent of direct care nurses working on those three days, as well as with leadership, interprofessional teammates, community partners, schools of nursing and patients. The exact times and locations of these meetings are to be determined.

Teammates are encouraged to take this opportunity to participate in the evaluation process.
