Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital named South Carolina's most socially responsible hospital

Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital recently was recognized as the most socially responsible hospital in South Carolina by the Lown Institute’s Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility.

The Lown Institute is a nonpartisan healthcare think tank. Annually, it evaluates over 3,600 U.S. hospitals using more than 50 metrics that encompass equity, value of care and patient outcomes. These assessments aim to identify the top-ranking hospitals in each state with regards to social responsibility. The metrics cover various aspects, such as inclusivity, pay equity, community benefit, avoiding overuse, cost efficiency, clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and patient safety. Hospitals that receive an “A” grade in equity, value of care and patient outcomes earn a coveted position on the Lown Index Honor Roll.

This year, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital earned the title of South Carolina’s most socially responsible hospital.
