About the DAISY Award

J. Patrick Barnes’ family established the award in his memory to honor the highly skilled and caring nurses who aided him (and them) in his battle against idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP). He died at the age of 33. DAISY Award honorees personify Roper St. Francis Healthcare's remarkable patient experience. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in our local and international nursing communities.

Any teammate or patient or family member may submit a nomination.
