Breast Cancer diagnosis
There are a variety of ways to initially diagnosis breast cancer. Screening mammography helps detect breast cancer at early stages. Additionally, if there are symptoms or signs of a possible breast cancer, your doctor may suggest one or all of the following diagnostic tests:
- Diagnostic mammogram
- Breast ultrasound
- Breast biopsy
- Breast MRI
In addition, breast cancer specialists at Roper St. Francis Cancer Care have access to advanced genetic testing that may help define a genetic predisposition to breast cancer, as well as genomic and other pathology tests that assist in choosing the appropriate treatment for each patient.
