More about the chaplain residency program

The Chaplain Residency program is a post-graduate degree educational experience. Most residents will have completed a master's of divinity degree or an equivalent theological education, though some applicants have been admitted with a master's from another background. The completion of one CPE unit (400 hours) accredited by the ACPE, Inc is preferred.

The curriculum is designed to engage personal, pastoral and professional identities in a multi-cultural and interdisciplinary environment. Our faculty is made up of two CPE educators along with two additional clinical managers and eight staff chaplains.

To apply, applicants must complete the standard ACPE application. Once all of the materials and the application fee ($35) are received, qualified applicants will be interviewed by supervisors and other designated faculty.

The residency position is a stipend position and includes benefits (medical, dental, etc.) that are offered to other hospital employees. Tuition for residency is $200 per unit and is required at the beginning of each unit. Applications and further inquiries can be made to:
