Mission Department

Roper St. Francis is the Lowcountry’s only private, not-for-profit healthcare system. We are a mission-driven health system that strives to care for our diverse community and improve the health of those that we serve through a spirit of charity and giving back.

Our Mission Department takes the lead in advocating for and responding to our neighbors’ needs through three primary activities:
  • Demonstrating accountability for and impact of charitable contributions and staff resources through an annual Community Benefits Report (adhering to the Voluntary Hospital Association (VHA)/Catholic Health Association’s  valuation methodology).
  • Conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Needs Assessment Implementation Plan
  • Overseeing a robust Community Benefits program, including corporate sponsorships, individual volunteer and system-wide outreach programs, and measuring the outcomes of these programs
