Pre-employment Checklist

When you accept an offer, a member of the recruitment team will schedule your appointment for your pre-employment physical/drug screen and completion of the new hire paperwork. The appointment to complete the physical/drug screen and paperwork should be completed by the Wednesday prior to the orientation date you are scheduled to attend.

What to bring to Teammate Health for your pre-employment physical and drug screen:

  • Your immunization records
  • Most recent PPD results (tuberculosis skin test)
  • Valid current photo ID in your legal name to establish identity (Driver's License, Passport, State Issued ID Card or Military ID Card, etc.)
  • Documents to establish identity and employment eligibility for I-9 (official list of valid documents - we need one item from Column A or one item from Column B and one item from column C)

Note, it is helpful for you to bring your immunization records and/or most recent PPD results when you come to Teammate Health, but if you do not have these items, Teammate Health can make accommodations.

Orientation Process

To prepare you for your new position we offer a comprehensive orientation process.

For teammates hired prior to September 2021, the general Roper St. Francis Healthcare portion of the orientation is being provided online through Red Carpet, the same portal new teammates use for their on-boarding paperwork.

  • There are three orientation tasks: a New Hire Welcome Video, New Hire Orientation Modules and Application and Hiring Evaluation.
  • These orientation tasks can be completed on the starting day, or before. They do not need to be completed prior to the pre-employment physical and drug screening appointment.
  • If a new teammate does not have a computer to use at home, the new teammate can coordinate with their hiring manager to complete these tasks onsite.
  • The completion of these tasks take approximately three hours. The timekeeper for the department will add the paid time to your timecard for the start date.
  • New teammates will check with their supervisor to determine the schedule for the remainder of the week.
  • Nursing personnel will receive schedules from Professional Development regarding nursing-specific orientation and where to report the remainder of the week.

For teammates hired September 2021 and after, the general Roper St. Francis Healthcare portion of the orientation is being provided in-person at the RSF Office Park (8536 Palmetto Commerce Parkway, Ladson, SC 29456).

  • You may park in any parking space at the facility.
  • Lunch will be provided.
  • Professional business attire (no jeans) is required for orientation. To maintain personal comfort, we suggest you wear layered clothing as meeting room temperatures often vary.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is proud to be a tobacco free campus and a drug-free work environment. Please note that all offers of employment are conditioned upon passing the pre-employment physical and drug screen.
