Roper St. Francis Healthcare today is announcing plans to sponsor the concert series at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island that will feature country and rock acts Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert and The Black Keys.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is committed to providing easy access to award-winning, quality care close to where residents live and work. The Lowcountry’s largest healthcare system for adults also carries a proud tradition of using music to bring people together, whether it’s hosting concerts for teammates or the public.

“Science has shown that music can have a tremendous benefit to our health, such as for both surgical and stroke patients in their recovery,” said Dr. Jeffrey DiLisi, Roper St. Francis Healthcare president and CEO and a lifelong piano player. “Our investment in the Roper St. Francis Healthcare Concert Series shows how we are continuing to care for our community, just as we’ve done for more than 165 years.”

Roper St. Francis Healthcare and Credit One Stadium are both embarking on significant growth projects to better serve the community. Roper St. Francis Healthcare announced in November an ambitious strategic plan centered on caring for more patients and modernizing technology, the cornerstone of which is relocating Roper Hospital from downtown to a more centralized site. Charleston Tennis, LLC, which manages the stadium under a lease from the City of Charleston, is currently renovating the 20-year-old facility, expanding from 7,500 seats to 11,000 seats and providing 16 fully conditioned permanent suites, all-new concessions, more bathrooms and a 75,000-square-foot Stage House. The renovations will be finished by the start of the concert series.

“We are proud to partner with Roper St. Francis Healthcare, a mission-based, not-for-profit that clearly cares about the health and wellbeing of our communities and the people who live in them,” said Bob Moran, president of Charleston Tennis, LLC. “We are thankful, in particular, for the leadership and care they have provided to patients during this pandemic.”

This concert series is Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s latest effort at leveraging the power of music. The healthcare system brought in country star Lee Brice for a free outdoor concert to open Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital in fall 2019, and it hosted The Beach Boys for the opening of Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital in 2010. The healthcare system also threw a drive-in concert for teammates featuring the local band The Yacht Club in May 2021 as part of Healthcare and Nurses Week.
