Charleston, SC (April 13, 2015) — Roper St. Francis Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare have renewed their relationship, giving people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare individual, employer-sponsored and Medicare plans in-network access to all Roper St. Francis Healthcare physicians and facilities in the Charleston area. UnitedHealthcare and Roper St. Francis Healthcare agreed to make the new contract retroactive to March 1, 2015, ensuring UnitedHealthcare plan participants do not experience any interruption in their in-network benefits coverage for services received at Roper St. Francis Healthcare facilities and with their physicians.

“We are pleased to have renewed our relationship with UnitedHealthcare to give their plan participants in-network access to the quality physicians and services provided by Roper St. Francis Healthcare,” said David Dunlap, president and chief executive officer of Roper St. Francis Healthcare. “With this commitment in place, our focus will remain on what matters most, which is delivering high-quality care to our patients.”

“Roper St. Francis Healthcare is a leading provider of health care services in the Charleston community, and this renewed network relationship lays the foundation for future collaboration on health issues that matter to our plan participants,” said Garland Scott, CEO, UnitedHealthcare of the Carolinas. “We are pleased that individuals and families in the Lowcountry will continue to have local access to critical health services.”
