“Dry January” helps you drink less and get healthier
Taking a break from alcohol this January can be a great benefit to one’s health, especially after a spike nationwide in drinking during COVID-19.
Dr. Valerie Scott of Roper St. Francis Physician Partners believes one of the best ways to stop this spike is to participate in “Dry January.”
“Dry January” is a month when people after the holiday season stop drinking alcohol and start the new year sober.
“People who we saw have one to two drinks a month are now having one to two drinks a day,” says Dr. Scott. “Dry January can provide a hard reset and help people evaluate what relationship they want alcohol to play in their life.”
