Friday, November 30, 2018 - Come inside our new Berkeley County Medical Office Building

Another chapter of medical history begins on Dec. 10 in Summerville as patients will receive care from a variety of specialists, including general surgeons, breast surgeons, orthopedic surgeons and OB/GYN physicians at the new Roper St. Francis Berkeley Medical Office Building. The new three-story, 80,000-square-foot Medical Office Building is on the campus of the future Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital

Roper St. Francis Healthcare also plans to add medical services in endocrinology, thoracic surgery, urology, wound care, dermatology, digestive disease, cardiology, radiation oncology, hematology and oncology.

“Our strategy in developing our healthcare system revolves around serving residents closest to where they live and work,” said Lorraine Lutton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Roper St. Francis Healthcare. “With this new Medical Office Building, we’re making it easier for families in Berkeley and Dorchester counties to access the quality and affordable healthcare that is the backbone of our brand.”

The Medical Office Building will be connected by a covered walkway to the new 140,000 square ft., 50-bed Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital that is scheduled to open in early October 2019. Berkeley County’s first hospital in more than 40 years will provide comprehensive healthcare services including: a 24-hour emergency department, cancer care, cardiology, diagnostics, endocrinology, maternity, orthopedics, pulmonology, surgery and therapeutic services.
