Renée gave birth to a beautiful baby boy at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital on February 8, 2020. His journey to life outside of the womb was complicated. The umbilical cord threatened to suffocate him, and he got trapped in the birth canal due to shoulder dystocia. It was the third time Renée had been in labor, but this was different. She wasn’t going to take this baby home. At 3:15 p.m., with tears of joy and a sigh of relief, the surrogate mother passed the healthy eight-pound newborn to her friends and the child's biological parents, Holly and Sam.
