The goal of the Roper Rehabilitation Hospital is to help patients with disabling injuries or illnesses reach their highest possible level of independence. Our experience and expertise helped more than 81.5 percent of our patients return to their homes versus an institutional setting last year.
Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), has been recognized for achieving the highest levels of patient satisfaction in the nation for overall quality care.
Roper Rehabilitation Hospital is the only hospital in the Lowcountry and one of only five in South Carolina to be awarded the Adult Inpatient Rehabilitation accreditation, and one of only three in the state to be awarded the Stroke Specialty accreditation from CARF.
Roper Rehabilitation Hospital has been accredited by CARF for the following programs:
- Spinal Cord System of Care (Adults)
- Brain Injury Specialty Program
Roper Center for Spinal Cord Injury and Rehabilitation Outpatient Services also received accreditation in Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Programs: Spinal Cord System of Care (Adults).
We are only one of two inpatient rehabilitation programs in the state with this accreditation.This accreditation now permits funding from the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs for Specialized TBI/SCI Post-Acute Rehabilitation for patients that are eligible for this funding.
