Cancer Care Related Services

Roper St. Francis Cancer Care believes that support services are integral to your healing. Cancer can take a toll emotionally, spiritually, financially, as well as physically. We encourage patients and their families to use our support services, and to let us know if there are additional ways we can assist on your cancer journey.

Donna Fielding Cancer Wellness Institute

The goal of the Donna Fielding Cancer Wellness Institute is simple, while its results are life-changing: we exist to support all of our cancer patients’ needs – mind, body and spirit.

Patient Navigator

The patient navigator serves as a central point of contact for our patients. They help them more thoroughly understand their diagnosis, direct them to resources and are a source of continuous support. Navigators can be found doing everything from educating patients on how to handle side effects to supporting a patient at a wig fitting.

The Healing Boutique

The Healing Boutique offers specialty products for cancer patients. It also has a certified post-mastectomy fitter, a licensed cosmetologist to help with hair replacement needs and provider-recommended books and resources.

Roper St. Francis Hospice Care

Roper Hospice provides compassionate, multidisciplinary care to those facing life-limiting illness. When curative treatment is no longer feasible or desired, our trained hospice professionals offer support, comfort, pain-management and a wide range of resources to ensure dignity and the best possible quality of life. Our team offers hospice care in any number of settings: the hospital, the patient’s home or in our residential Hospice Home in Mount Pleasant coming this August.

Palliative Care

Roper St. Francis Healthcare has board-certified palliative medicine doctors trained in integrated care for patients living with chronic and life-limiting illness. Unlike hospice care, palliative care may be appropriate for patients at any stage of illness (not just end of life) and can complement curative treatments. The goal of palliative care is to provide optimal symptom and pain management, as well as emotional and spiritual support tailored to each patient.
