Meet Dr. Samuel Parish, a board-certified family medicine and addiction medicine doctor practicing at the Roper St. Francis Greer Transitions Clinic. Dr. Parish provides care for people with substance use disorders, including medication-assisted treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders. He has special clinical interests in primary care integrated with behavioral health care, as well as screening and treatment for mental health conditions. He finds his work rewarding because it allows him to be a part of an individual’s journey to a healthier life. He uses shared decision-making with his patients as active care team members. He enjoys speaking to community groups, faith-based groups and professional audiences on all topics related to addiction and substance use disorders. Dr. Parish has worked in addiction medicine and family medicine in various practice settings including hospitals, multispecialty groups, private practice, and federally qualified community health centers in Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Parish enjoys spending time with his family, reading, walking and birding.
