Miler Properties was named Business of the Year with under 50 employees and Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union earned Business of the Year with more than 51 employees at the annual Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce Awards Celebration Feb. 1.

The event was held at the Inn at Middleton Place to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of outgoing board members and businesses in the community.

The complete list of honorees is:

Business of the Year with 50 and fewer employees

Winner: Miler Properties

Finalists: James T. Martin, Jr., MD, OBGYN and Robby Robbins, Attorney at Law

Business of the Year with 51 and greater employees

Winner: Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union

Finalists: AllCare Living Services, Inc. and Glasspro, Inc.

Volunteer of the Year award winner

The late Henry Lewis for his loyal support and dedication to not only the Chamber, but to the many organizations he was involved in throughout the community

Godmuddah: Nancyjean Nettles, 2013 chair of the Chamber Board of Directors

Nettles ended the meeting with the passing of the gavel to the 2014 Chair of the Chamber Board of Directors Billy Romanstine and recognized outgoing board members for their commitment and service to the Chamber including PJ Johnson, State Farm Insurance – PJ Johnson Agent; Sharon Laney, Insty-Prints of Summerville; Ed Carter, Appraisal Services of SC, Inc.; David Ramey, LS3P Associates Ltd. and Kelly Knight, Knight & Whittington, LLC.
