Cancer Center Clinical Trials

The Roper St. Francis Cancer Center maintains an active Oncology Research Department offering patients the ability to participate in national clinical trials. Our association with the Southeast Cancer Control Consortium, Inc. (SCCC) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, provides our physicians access to clinical trials through various research groups such as Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB), National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), University of Michigan Oncology Group (UMCC), and University of Rochester Oncology Group (URCC). Participation in clinical trials gives our patients access to the most up-to-date treatments for a specific disease, before they become broadly introduced. We have an average of 30 treatment and prevention studies across the cancer spectrum open at any given time.
