Sunday, January 27, 2019 - Drug Take Back lands 200 pounds of prescriptions
It's a sad fact, Charleston County led the state of South Carolina in overdose deaths in 2017. Overdose numbers continue to remain high and expired prescription pills contribute to that number. Roper St. Francis Healthcare invited the public to the Drug Take Back where they could drop off expired or unused prescriptions. The totals were impressive: 200 pounds of drugs which will be disposed of properly.

Medications that are flushed or sent to landfills in the trash can enter our water supply. The Drug Take Back is also vital to removing excess opioids from households where young people can access them.

Our next Drug Take Back will be in late February, details and location to be announced soon!
