Roper St. Francis President and CEO Lorraine Lutton: Three focus areas for the Roper St. Francis Health Alliance
I’d like to start by thanking you for your incredible commitment to the mission of Roper St. Francis.
Roper St. Francis Health Alliance members are our most loyal physicians who have built strong patient panels and are known for their excellent quality of patient care. Roper St. Francis enjoys a reputation for outstanding patient experience and excellent clinical outcomes because of your hard work. Thank you for your contributions and for helping to make our healthcare system a success.
I want to share with you my vision for where the alliance will focus its efforts this year:
- Engage all Roper St. Francis Health Alliance physicians to create strong alignment
I am keenly aware about how essential the Roper St. Francis Health Alliance is for aligning both employed and independent physicians. I see our clinically integrated network as a vehicle for taking even better care of the greater Charleston community. Healthcare is changing to require practices and providers to submit quality data that will affect and, perhaps, ultimately determine their reimbursement. We want to leverage our Roper St. Francis Health Alliance to help employed and independent physicians to efficiently gather, monitor and report this information.
- Implement evidence-based measures to improve care
Once we have systems in place to analyze data from our Roper St. Francis Health Alliance members, we want to work with you on improving the care we provide. Together, we can find the gaps in our care, whether it’s in how we manage hypertension or screen for depression or care for those who are newly diagnosed with diabetes. We want to look at how well we are performing as a community and find ways to improve together.
- Achieve success with our existing contracts
The Roper St. Francis Health Alliance has three contracts – Medicare Shared Savings Program, Boeing Preferred Partnership and Roper St. Francis Teammate Health Plan – and all three are opportunities to work with patients to provide more efficient and effective care. We look forward to developing care management strategies that will help us achieve success in those contracts and manage an estimated 45,000 lives.
I look forward to working with each of you. I’m always interested in hearing your perspective, so please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
