Ken Burger Challenge

Last year Post & Courier Sportswriter Ken Burger waged a battle against prostate cancer.  With the help of Roper St. Francis Cancer Center’s doctors and cancer fighting tools he beat his cancer.  Now you can help others beat prostate cancer too at the Burger Prostate Challenge. 

Relive the glory days of your sporting youth when you join us under the lights of West Ashley High’s football stadium.  Test your skills and stamina in several football and golf challenges all while trying to Beat Burger’s score and raising money for the Roper St. Francis Ken Burger Prostate Cancer Fund.

Your fans (and you) can also enjoy the ultimate tailgate party with food and prizes.  This family-fun event will include free medical screenings and prostate health information.

Individual Challenges:
Each individual will be scored on the following challenges:

  1. Football Pass
  2. Fastest Average for 40-yard Sprint
  3. Longest Place Kick
  4. Longest Punt Average 
  5. 50-yard Chip Shot Challenge

Prostate Cancer
Prostate Cancer is the most common non-skin cancer diagnosed in America men, with 1 in 6 men developing prostate cancer during their lifetime. But with tools like the daVinci Robot and an expert team of cancer doctors the Roper St. Francis Cancer Center is beating prostate cancer.  In fact, our Center treats 43% of prostate cancer cases in the tri-county, with 5 year survival rates higher than both state and national benchmarks.
