  • Professional Development offers many ways for nurses to increase their knowledge. Last year, the department provided 1,238 contact hours with 6,759 unique interfaces.
  • Roper provided clinical rotation experiences for 174 nursing students in 2011.


Nursing Leadership Council

  • Shared Governance is a model of nursing decision making in which all nurses are empowered to manage their practice with professional autonomy. Decision making occurs through unit-based and hospital-wide councils.
  • The Nursing Leadership Council consists of nurse leaders and a representative sample of direct care nurses from each unit who bring their unique knowledge set and work together to provide insight and guidance to the practice of nursing at Roper Hospital.
