Cancer Support Groups

Expressions of Healing 
This eight-week workshop is for patients, survivors, family and friends touched by cancer. Led by the South Carolina Poet Laureate and an art therapist, participants express their feelings about cancer through poetry, journaling and art. Experience is not necessary. Materials, a light dinner and free parking are provided. Meets in the fall and spring on Tuesdays at Roper Hospital in either the Parker or Hayes Boardrooms.  For more information contact BJ Mack at (843) 720-8343.

S.A.S.S.Y. Breast Cancer Support Group
“Strength and Survivorship Support For You”. Breast cancer survivors and those currently in treatment come together for encouragement, support and information. Each meeting includes a timely topic related to living well in the face of breast cancer, followed by open group discussion. Free parking and light refreshments provided. Meets the third Monday of the month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Highway. Colorectal Cancer Support Group
This ongoing support group welcomes patients, loved ones and survivors affected by colorectal cancer. Meets the first Wednesday of the month from 4 - 5 p.m. at the Roper St. Francis Cancer Center board room located at 2085 Henry Tecklenburg Dr. on the St. Francis Hospital Campus.
