Roper St. Francis Healthcare succeeds because our supporters have answered the call to further support the system's mission of healing all people with compassion, faith and excellence.
Our friends and neighbors have gifted the Roper St. Francis Foundation, the fundraising arm of Roper St. Francis Healthcare, with roughly $29 million since 2005. These gifts have allowed our nurses to further their education with donor-provided nursing scholarships, have contributed to the purchase of the newest technology available to treat cancer patients, and have helped us upgrade the facilities used by our medical professionals and visitors.
History
Originally incorporated in 1986 as the charitable arm of Roper Hospital, the Foundation initially provided grants to the community through a tithing system. When Roper Hospital merged in 1998 with Bon Secours St. Francis Xavier Hospital under a management agreement with Carolinas HeathCare System, the Foundation became the CareAlliance Health Foundation. With its reorganization as the Roper St. Francis Foundation in 2003 and 2004, the Foundation became a full-service development office, soliciting major gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies to support the fundraising initiatives of Roper St. Francis Healthcare.
Mission
Our mission is to identify, secure and manage financial resources to support facility projects and healthcare services of Roper, Bon Secours St. Francis and Mount Pleasant Hospitals.
